A SOLDIER'S STORY ARISE AND BE I

Echoes sounding...
through broken shattered, remnants
of a hollowed frame
breaks within a thunderous clap,
errupts then falls, causing rafters to break...
collapse like tree limbs bent heavyly
under weight of snow
And now those knees crippled, bent and buckled...
collapse beneath the weight of mocking words
like phantoms... creeping and sliding through cracks...
Within this shell of man
Exiled and caged and trapped..
within this shell of man...
deprived of oxygen- breath that springs forth life
Waiting to respire,
Waiting to retire his tired soul...
"Soul jah – what happen to ya, man?"
"Soul jah – be strong, don’t fall"
Arise, be more like man
And learn to stand upon the mound
stand straight upon those weakened legs,
Arise and claim ..I Am
Arise and be I...
Stand up, be strong, stand up and shout,
shout to be loud
shout to be heard..
Shout - "I Am" ...and live...
