I SAID GOODBYE TO THE DEVIL
I said good bye to the devil
the best of all my friends
he was glad to see I'd made it on
and how much he really cared
through all my trials and tribulations
amoungst my loss and fears
he told me how he loved me most
and that he'd always be right there
but should I ever miss him
when I saw an aching soul
remember that he loved them too
a friend like God to help them through
this journey of our life
I took the simpler road
the one I always knew
haunted by another self
yet chose the path of loving you
one final glance,
i'll not foreget
and leave you there and say adieu
but now I bid a fond farewell
and give you thanks for all the Hell!'
