OUTSIDE THESE WALLS
drapped in a curtain
of ignorance and fear
four corners confines love
within four walls
breath seeps through cracks
searching out life form
outside a retangular cube
into another dimension
church warden
school warden
prison warden
police moral exactitudes
guarding thought
each standing still
in an orange garment
of sameness fading into grey
a hostage cannot move
standing still in a straight jacket
within the confinesof four walls
love must escapeto follow breath
scaping through cracks
from mortar and concrete
into liberationfrom mental captivity
outside these walls....


PASSION AND EMOTION
caught in the histrionics
of emotions
far too intense
does little good
often frightens people
away...the balance between
passion and emotion
and the execution of words
erupting like a vulcano
spilling into cravases
of scars not quite healed
far too impatient to go through
normal channels of reasoning
reminiscent of youthfull years
lingering from past indulgences
like thick paint splashed wrecklessly
onto a blank canvas
uneven moments of weaknesses
still to speak from a heart
full of feeling
requires balance
between passion and emotion
and the execution of words...
