Can I please you
writing poetry
always
solely for you,
wholly for you?
nothing else
to occupy mind
but you?
spend
a life time with it
in every moment
expressing you?
This forbidden fruit
I nurture
in a nest
of fragile eggs
incubating love
to be born
within the warmth
of a poet's passion
A lonely sufferer
courting
unsuccessfully
against your
bashful indecision
for me
to remain
this solitary voice...
