'The Double Mobius Star is a supreme symbol of wholeness, the self in balance and harmony with all the universe or in Judaism as the union of man and God... In the ancient Hindu yogic tradition, the six-pointed star is the symbol associated with the heart chakra, anahata.
The Double Mobius Star or Star of David is thought to bring inner strength, balance and protection.
The area above it is referred to as the Soul and the area below is referred to as the Personality.'

I am so poor...
for a day
but heaven's gifts
of riches
lasts
an eternity
love
a fine luxury
laid like silken pillows
under perfumed hair
words filling up a sachse
of coins
a diamond crown
shimmering
within a prism of colour
and music
sounding through
golden trumpets
all enshrined
in an artist's Will
when all is said
and done...

'Rise'
(Theatre/Dance Production)
(Theatre/Dance Production)
The theme of homosexuality is never an easy subject to approach amidst an environment of fixed sexual, social and religious attitudes, prejudices and sexual taboos.'Rise' is a story dealing with young gay male's struggle toward self-realization and deals with the theme of homosexuality against the backdrop of bigotry and intolerance.
It is a song of liberation that emphasizes all of our humanities. A universal call to freedom. Ultimately, the flower unfolding and the bird taking flight. It is a story of transformation.
It was written in response to those who feel this bigotry in their daily lives both men and women for their given preference but also in homage to those who have paid the hefty price for it with their lives. In the summer of 2008 there was a series of brutal attacks and murders of several young gay males within our community...

AMULET
Dedicated to my Russian Jewish friend whom I met today on her travels....
Ever present eye
knowing
seeing
may it guide
may it protect
from shore to shore
from my hands
to yours
receiving
giving...
ancient symbol
reborn
with new light
shedding walls
initiating
sacred mysteries
to brightness
and peace
with eye in hand
and I in hand...
Ever present eye
knowing
seeing
may it guide
may it protect
from shore to shore
from my hands
to yours
receiving
giving...
ancient symbol
reborn
with new light
shedding walls
initiating
sacred mysteries
to brightness
and peace
with eye in hand
and I in hand...

MIRROR CRACK'D
from side to side
splitting glass
across the plane
bending outward
her face
And into the illusion
of the mirror's trick
it hung with meloncholy
like a Tennysonian refrain
that could not shake
its sadness
Her hands pulled back
her thick brown hair
to see a lover
in the mirror's glare
standing
through a window pane
And past the shadowy veil
blazing bold
within the light
she heard a clarion
calling
Her breast heaved high
she breathed it low
in the stale air
of gloom
she made three steps
toward the door
then left the welfare
of her room...
splitting glass
across the plane
bending outward
her face
And into the illusion
of the mirror's trick
it hung with meloncholy
like a Tennysonian refrain
that could not shake
its sadness
Her hands pulled back
her thick brown hair
